초록 (Abstract)

Han, Ha-Woon is a poet who formalized the sense of severe life in the tragic fate of a leper. But so far the synthetic study about him has not been studied, because of some factors. Even though there were various problems to surmount the incomplete study of Ha-Woon''''s poetry, in this study we tried to explicate the essence and value of his poetry closely. First of all this study is summarized as follows.
(1) Ha-Woon was born in the classical scholar family in Ham-Joo province. He grew with various faculty, but at the age of 15 he was attacked with a leper, and from then he had to live a painful life. In addition to he began to undergo all sorts of hardships in the historical situation of the liberation from Japan and the Korean war. After he ascended the poem part, he was alienated from the formal group of literature, because of various factors. He wrote two anthologies, 『Han, Ha-woon Si cho(韓何雲詩抄)』 and 『Bo-ri-Pi-ri(보리피리)』. 『Han, Ha-Woon Si-jen-jip(한하운 시전집)』 was published and the posthumous poems was found. In this study all 81 poems included these ones was analyzed.
(2) According to the usage of form and language of Ha-Woon''''s poems, we could explicate the characters of his.
(a) First, we can illustrate the stanza structure composed the array of two lines and three lines. In the poems of the equal line number composed of two lines and three lines there were many poems which included the tragic character of the private life, comparing with the poems which were not composed of two lines and three lines. In those poems it seems that the tension of poetic object is formalized. In this study such poems are named as those of formal tention.
Second, according to the type of the closure, his poetry is analyzed. It can be devided into the inflected closure and the noun closure. In comparison with noun, inflected word shows the high degree of self-explosion, and in the case of the poems ended as inflected word, there are many poems formalized an everyday experience of tragic life
Third, <Po-ri-Pi-ri(보리피리)>, <Toraji Kot(도라지꽃)>, and <Kai-ku-ri(개구리)> which composed of the formal experimentation were analyzed. Through the analysis of these poems, his language, conciousness, and further one aspect of beauty sense could be verified.
(b) One of the traits in the language use is the frequent use of the direct expression. The poems used the direct expression were connected with the problem of the poetic honesty. It is grasped as a cause that his poetry can give a reader the deep emotion. The other trait is the frequent of the repeated expression. The type is classified as the repetition of the whole poem, the repetition of phrase within a stanza, the relation of head and tail, the repetition of a word, and the repetition of descriptive bound word-end. The effect of these types was examined in respect of self-explosion and structural beauty.
(c) The mental image devided into the categories of color, time, space, and flowers is analyzed. In the mental image of blue color and white color, blue color is embodied in the base on an everyday experience of the tragic life. On the other hand, white color is revealed in the situation which is excluded and is not bloomed.
In the time mentality of night and spring, night was the poetic space which was directly connected with the reality of tragic life. Spring was grasped as the object that had the symbolic character that could illuminate the tragic character of life.
In the space mentality of the sky and a road, the sky was the tendency of open space, and the medium recognized the gap between the hopeful past and the tragic reality. A road was the symbol of the closed space which could not be realized as the freedom will.
Flowers revealed the various meanings in the complex relation of the present situation and memory. Flowers were revealed as the objects for longing and desire, the representation of a lovely woman, the relative correlation of a poet in the tragic situation, the representation for the existence, and so on.
(3) The theme and poetic tendency of Ha-Woon''''s are based on the tragic recognition for the leper''''s fate.
(a) His poetic development began at the tragic recognition for the leper''''s fate. The sterile and alienated situation which was represented as <Chelado Kil(전라도길)> originated from the recognition of the perilous life. But the recognition of the tragic life didn''''t stop at the point of recognition, furthermore, however, it kept on representing the struggle against the self-torture and self-negation. This struggle was understood as the style of response surmounting the fate as well as the representation aspect of fatal recognition. In addition to, it moved toward the effection for life and the concentration for the problems of death. The point that Ha-Woon didn''''t confine a leper''''s tragic life in sorrow and despair, but sublimed the study of life essence is one of the reasons had the significant meaning of Ha-Woon''''s. The tragic recognition for the fate, self-torture, negation, the effection for life, and the concentration for the problems of death are his empirical domain. If so, the recognition for the negative reality is in the external domain. It is understood as the reaction for the social reality with prejudice and hostility against the leper that the reality for the external life was only perceived negatively and formalized a poem.
(b) His poetic tendency is summarized as freedom, a mother and a lovely woman, and hometown. The tendency for the freedom directly represented in the <Pa-rang-sai(파랑새)> gives a reader the pathetic sense in respect of the presupposition of death. The tendency for the freedom originated from a leper''''s sensibility of the perilous life, therefore gets his freedom had the meaning of the intense struggle which is not the form of thought.
A mother and a lovely woman have the same meaning as the place headed forward life with repentance and lamentation. Further, a mother and a lovely woman in his particular life are the objects which stir up the endless love. The self-accusation and the repentance for them are left as longing rescued.
The hometown is the space with the nostalgia and memory of painful life. Such dual characters of hometown have the hope for the freedom and life headed toward the space of yearning.
The content of this study can be summarized like this. In conclusion through his poems we could certify that Ha-Woon was a poet who had lived a intense life. It has the possibility to get him to pose the significant level in respect of the history of poems that through his poems he realized the emotion of intense life caused in the tragic life. Regardless of the time it will arouse sympathy forever that the most individual theme can be the most ordinary, poetic reality. Ko-Un''''s statement that in the middle school age he picked up 『Han, Ha-Woon Si cho(韓何雲詩抄)』missed by somebody on the road and read it, and then he was impressed with it, and further, made up his mind to be a poet is the direct illustration manifested truthfulness and life power in Ha-Woon''''s. In 1930''''s the poem of so called life group had got the life discrepancy and the conciousness of the original sin formalized a poem through throught. On the other hand, though a poem, Ha-Woon tried to seek after life truth and existence in the dual agonies of a leper''''s tragic fate and the perilous times. This is meaningful. It also gives a reader a factor that his poems afford the move of deep mind. In conclusion it can be said that Ha-Woon''''s poems which kept on searching for the meaning of life and existence in the tragic fate of life in the gloomy times afford a significant opportunity which made us reflect upon the self-life. therefore in the base on the discussion made until now, we expect to be a elaborate study for the Ha-Woon''''s and explicate the importance degree of Ha-Woon in the history of literature.
